1 Month Ahead

 

• Booking your move with River City Moving about four weeks in advance helps ensure your preferred spot on our schedule.

• Take the next steps in consolidating the items you plan to take with you by having a garage sale, or by selling off unwanted items.

• Any items you do not use regularly should be gathered, organized and packed. 

• This is a great time to consider booking a consultation with one of the home organizers recommended below!

1 to 2 Weeks Ahead

 

• Submit your change of address form at the Post Office.

• It’s time to buy moving supplies! 

• You don’t want to be living in a city of boxes, so start by packing items you will not need for the next few weeks.

• If packing is stressing you out feel free to reach out to us! We can pack for you!

• Be sure to leave some cleaning supplies unpacked and handy!

1 to 2 Days Ahead

 

• Pack a box or bag with essentials like toiletries, snacks, etc.

• Be sure to clean out fridges and defrost freezers. 

• Disconnect electronic devices and take photos of the connections and set up.

• Ensure that utilities such as gas, electricity, water, internet, and cable are set to begin at your new home on the move-in date
